"misguided christian" playmate took some liking to the song, becamse 'child obsessed' over the 'rap' (we didnt know-nobody knew) about "The Man From Mars is Eating Cars", kept telling me about it again and again. He had MTV (with another station 'bleeding' over the tube) and began to tape record songs from the speaker. For some reason, the sound was muffled, and I have ADD. It sounded pretty weird and I remember the same thing repeated. I LOVE THIS!!!

Blondie were true PATRIOTS of our country at the time! The album title "Autoamerican" from which this single came has significant relevance to our slumping auto industry in the US right now. The band chose that title to support the car industry and encourage Americans to buy American-made cars because the industry was going through a slump in the early 80's too, losing business to the Japanese. Boy, do we need another supergroup with such a message to the American consumers right now!
