I played it again twice, and I do agree with you that a note was intentional. I hope you have a good time singing too.

"...compared to the /Rufus Wainright/ version."
Fix'd.

That's fine.
It's just that that's his style, you know.
Though I feel the same way about Bob Dyllan. Or should I say, "BOOUuuuuub, DILLUUUuuuN."

We were talking about this in school today. I think this is the best version of the song. It's a masterpice compared to the Shrek version

Again, I think he sucks donkey balls. I am sorry for annoying people, but i cannot get over the fact that he sounds like someone with a SERIOUS disability.

Sorry, R2, but I just listened to this twice more, as critically as I could, and I did not hear one note that he did not intend. I'm a vocalist, so I listen intently. Leonard has a very individual style and he doesn't slip much.
By the way, I definitely agree with your comment on profanity. Such language is the last resort of the ignorant.

Some notes aren't on the ball, but I think that's what makes this song unique. I loved the one he did on TV, enough to learn to play and sing the song. I think using profanity to describe the performance very cheap shots. Try choosing other words to be descriptive. Leonard has been singing since I was a small child in the '60's, so I can understand voice slips. Some types of medcations mess up the voice at bad times. So before commenting, go back to 40 years ago and see. |
