As I recall, the federalists were pro-national government, run by the elite, whereas the democratic republicans were all about limited gov't, run by the average farmer. So the historical meaning of 'federalist' contradicts her belief in "state's right" entirely.

Fittingly, this is not a subject that you're hoping is correct; rather, this is a core subject that is a "generally accepted" biomedical FACT. We know that sperm is an organism, for instance.
