My favorite part of this song is the line, I'm only human a coward at best but I'm more than certain I'd follow him west. I just love her voice and expressions during this part. I often find myself singing that lyric. As for Marion, she does a good job too but hers doesn't grab me like this one does. Thanks again

This is my favorite of your postings of hers. I listen to it all the time. I like the way she sings the lyrics with so much emotion and humor. It one of those songs that just reaches you and draws you in. One of my top 5 videos on YT.

The more video I see of these vintage singers, the more I think that no matter what time we live in, we're all more alike than we know. This is a peerless performance by Ruth Etting.

Being a great fan of Doris Day and James Cagney I was curious to see/hear Ruth Etting in person. Thank you so much for posting! ("She's funny that way" was one of Frank Sinatra's most famous songs. He often sang it for his first wife Nancy and recorded it twice).

Both she and Harris had totally different takes on this song,but they were both great in their own way.I found the Harris version more pleasing,though vocally I might rate them otherwise.
