Ren & Stimpy is mediocre, but you haven't seen the best of American humor in animation if you haven't seen cartoons like Animaniacs. They do shit just for the sake of humor.

Some of it is, but in a twist of irony it's usually the stuff that makes fun of anime humour. But yeah for the most part anime humour AIN'T funny.
