Elgar conducting Pomp and Circumstance March no.1

Ukulele Videos

Rare film of Elgar talking and then conducting the trio of his Pomp and Circumstance March no.1 at the opening of EMI's Abbey Road studios in London on 12 November 1931. Elgar's words to the orchestra before he begins conducting are as follows: "Morning, gentlemen. Glad to see you all. Very light programme this morning. Please play this tune as though you've never heard it before."

An absolutely fantastic upload. I have sat beside three men whom each in there turn recorded in this studio under their own names. Jim Cameron (Scottish Fiddler) - Sir Jimmy Shand - Angus Fitchet (Fiddler)
