I worked on banana's for ten years and we had a much more efficient system. It only takes one person to cut and hump a bunch. And we used a tractor and trailer to transport the fruit to the packing shed. But I guess when you're paying your workers $1.50 a day it must be profitable, especially when these enormous companies are drowning the market and dominating the price of fruit.

everything is recycled...a huge amount of bananas can be harvested by only a few people...they wouldnt do it if it wasnt profitable but i understand what your saying like they make the process look too easy...well its prob true

I've never seen so much double-handling in my life. How can this method of harvest possibly be cost effective?
