I agree with you, and will take your comment one step further...many male rock stars took their sound from Janis. Bon Scott, Robert Plant, Axl Rose, Dan McCafferty. None gave her credit unfortunately. In that regard she was seriously overlooked. Peace.

I read the contrary. I read that she was so "out of it" they had to postpone her show for 8 hours while she sobered up. It is in a few books on her, Buried Alive in the Blues by Myra Friedman, Pearl the Obsessions and Passions of Janis Joplin, by David Dalton and Scars of Sweet Paradise by Alice Echols. I would love to know where your info came from it would be wonderful to know she was clean at this time! Peace.
