I've performed this piece this summer in China. Man it was so difficult, but it was also an amazing experience to be apart of. I love Beethoven!!!

Ehhh... I would have to say Richard Wagner was much more of an influence to the metal genre... thoughhhhh Wagner was mostly influenced by Beethoven sooo I guess they're one in the same. All I'm saying is that Wagner's compositions were more similar to the "Metal" of his era.

Huh? I never said that. Damn Youtube makes it hard to keep track of conversations, but if I remember the context correctly, someone said the Mozart Requiem used voices and I pointed out that a Requiem is a mass, not a symphony, and that all masses use voices. Most symphonies do not use voices: Beethoven's 9th was the first. I can't think of another one until the Mahler 2nd.

Agreed. I love when that German baritone starts wailing. The bass and timpani are awesome. I think Beethoven invented "heavy metal".
