Israel is only interested in holding on to illegally occupied land. Peace in itself has no value. If there was peace the ball would land in their court and they couldn't carry on projecting themselves as a poor little defenseless nation surrounded by hostile Arabs. So they keep stirring the pot and playing up threats. It keeps the American tax dollars rolling in and they get to keep land that doesn't belong to them.
