Lip-syncing? No shit! They ALL lip-synched on TOTP and Countdown etc. It was the show's policy. In fact, when they finished lip-synching in 2000, it killed the shows off, because the pop 'stars had no idea how to sing live.

Max, that's right bro..who cares if he's gay. What I care about is that he has a freaking awesome voice and he and Soft Cell make up some of the greatest memories of my youth back in the early 80's! Love ya Marc! PEACE!!

Well, if you look closely when he has to clap his hands and such... he sings while his mic is far away from his mouth which if this was a true live performance would have a serious effect on the sound :)
