The look on Leon Askin (Burkhalter's) face with the exploded cigar cracks me up everytime I see it. RIP LEON!!

I'm thinking of rewriting the pilot to explain Sergeant Carter. In my fanon, Carter does indeed arrive at Stalag 13...twice.

There was "another Carter" in this pilot episode, '44'- here, he's "Lt. Carter", brought in for a mission, and escaped back toward Allied forces at the end. After Leonid Kinskey {"Minsk"} decided not to appear in the series, the producers replaced his character with "Sgt. Carter", bringing Larry Hovis back as a regular cast member as as I've said, a "different Carter"....

A "Hogan's Heroes" movie has been proposed by one movie studio after another, only to never get past the proposed stage. Revolution Studios was supposed to have filmed a HH movie in 2005 or 2006, with Russell Cameron starring with a release date of sometime in 2008. But, that date seems to have been a little premature. A HH movie seems to be cursed to never going beyond talking about doing a movie based on the series. |
