The poor guy is bald now which is probably why you never see him out of a hat. Now though he looks good wearing one, same with Bono and his sun glasses.

I remember when this video first appeared back in 1987 and just being simply amazed how long The Edge's hair had gotten at that point.
So use to seeing him with short hair before The Joshua Tree.
I was 15 when this came on so I grew my hair out just like his.
Took FOREVER!
