If that meant that we never squandered our wealth, credibility, overextended our military, emboldened our enemies by looking like inept fools, taking our eyes of the real area of concern in Afghanistan, destabilized an entire region of the world and made every nation in the world covet nuclear weapons to prevent us from arbitrarily attacking them when we decided to, then yes, we WOULD be safer with that beast still in power.
