Besides, this is meant as a follow-up to Vivaldi nor does she profess to be Vivaldi's successor in any way. If she did, then you can complain and cry sacrilege. But she doesn't. This is a modernist rendition, not a complete makeover. It would be really very childish to complain about it right now. Its fine if you don't like it, but saying this sucks for shallow reasons are similar to religious dogmatists' reactions whenever their religious beliefs are put into question or doubt.

Vivaldi isn't spinning in his grave if his music is preserved in it's original form. This is a rendition, and renditions are like flattery or made in homage to the genius behind the original piece. I don't know why people react the way they do, saying this sucks and all, maybe it's just conservative narrow-mindedness. If the original is perfect as they say it is, and I agree, I wouldn't be worried if someone else made a different version out of it, as long as the originals are preserved.

Is there anywhere I can buy or download this song?!? Thanks!

This version is amazing! Not as amazing as the original, I'd have to say...but i really like how she took such a classic piece and reworked it into a 20th century version. The tune we all love is still there, but with a vastly different sound...

Love the song but don't really like the video

however, preserving the old is also done. Who will ever forget about the four seasons by vivaldi. No one, but who remembers Vanessa Mae's version (unless searched for or heard voluntarily) anyway? No one. Only the individuals who are interested will listen. And since you aren't, you dont need to listen. You can listen to the original by Vivaldi. =)

well, maybe using the word exciting was wrong. I think its fascinating how this can be done. look at apocalyptica for example. they play music such as metallica on the cello. Therefore, bringing classical ways into trash metal. Now this is bringing something old into something new. i think its wrong to argue that one such piece should just be played using the cello, the viola, the violin, or even the bass. I think it's right to bring different music mediums together to create something new.

wow i absolutely love it...it's great & i've finally found a piece of music that's the closest to classical that i actually like...

I'd argue that the original is even more exciting than this interpretation.
