Funny thing is it's not "revisionist." What Disney failed to do in the film that he didn't mention until after the film came out was that this film takes place after the Civil War. And many former slaves (who were treated well by their previous slave owners) stayed on and worked the plantations and lived fairly happy lives for those times. That is what this movie is about. About crossing over the race lines.

Yes. Song of the South is up there with both Gone with the Wind and The Color Purple. If I can say what else is on DVD besides them two movies are both television series' of Roots and North & South. My 5th grade social studies teacher (back in 1996) who in fact is African American showed us Roots and my 7th grade social studies teacher (back in 1998) who wasn't, showed us North & South. If both movies and both television series' can be put onto DVD, then so can Disney's Song of the South.

If those two can be released without any trouble, then Song of the South should be, too. I am just outraged by the fact that it hasn't been shown legally in over 20 years since its last theatrical re-release.

It's just a nonsensical term. It has no real meaning, but it's fun to say!
