true, but many of the Russian hero's where more than slaves to their government, or at least how their government viewed them. Not much credit is worthy of Stalin's government but a lot is due to the normal Russian civilian.

I think the most neglected heroes of World War Two were indeed the Russians. The amount of men they lost, the amount of work they did - you rarely see a film showing just what they achieved.
Even Winston Churchill said "It is the Russian Army that has done the main work of ripping the guts out of the German Army."
