At first I had problems accepting guitar hero. I have spent years learning my instruments and I....well, you know. But now my son ( already plays trumpet and a little percussion) is HUNGRY to learn guitar BECAUSE of guitar hero....of course seeing Rush 4 times between ages 4 and 10 did'nt hurt either!

All kidding aside..GuitarHero is a fun way to pretend to play a real instrument. I have watched both kids and grown-ups play the GH game. GH is the equivalent of playing "T-ball" before you are big enough for real baseball. The challenge of learning a real instrument is much more rewarding and will last a lifetime for those who succeed. BTW,Some of the youtube videos are of Robin Trower filmed around his 60th birthday!!! So how many guitar players is this generation going to produce?

You do know that Trower is one of Paul's MAIN influences on the guitar, right? I don't think Paul's latest album would sound the way it does without Robin Trower's music deep in his soul.

I've got disagree just a LITTLE bit with you. I've seen a ton of kids in my area pick up real instruments because they were heavily influenced by those "Goddamned GuitarHero computer toys"............ of course they can be a bad thing, but if they're influencing kids that normally wouldn't bother with real music to pick up an instrument, and learn to express themselves, and keep them selves out of trouble with it, then why damn the games?
