I going to see the incredible Ramones Tribute band, Commando on Friday, Nov 28. They are playing at Frank Cariola's Sundance in Rocky Point, Long Island, NY. Basket Case(Green Day Tribute band)is also playing.

ronhelf, not quite correct on the timeline there. The Ramones came over to play the during the US bicentennial, so the gigs were on 4/5th July. The Ramones really kick started punk over here and the rest took it on, there's an interview with Joe Strummer talking about the gig and he credits The Ramones with inspiring him, for me that says it all
