But this was a bass job and as such didn't portray BE as well as he could marvellously play. But great nevertheless.

Fascinating and more original than most versions of this song. Bill had it all going on -- rhythmic precision, harmonic complexity, and a playful drive at the heart of his ideas. Bass player did an unusual solo -- alternating arpeggiated jabs with lots of relaxed space, taking some risks, avoiding cliches. You can almost hear the notes he doesn't play.

haha awesome, yeah i mean its crazy there were people playing like that back then, granted it's a little out there but i guess that's what jazz is all about
