Actually that is not accurate.
At the end of the warming period the earth started cooling again, culminating in the "little ice age" of the 1700s. Since that time we have been in a gradual warming cycle.

we are not in an overall warming cycle. the earth is in an overall cooling cycle.
Look at the Medieval Warming Period, 800-1300. It was far warmer back then.
The earth is in a cooling trend.
