You people aren't getting it. It's not necessarily about the song, or how well Folds performs it. It has to do with his improvisation, and as the woman at the beginning says, his spontaneity and innovation. He just showed up and played the song without looking at any sheet music. He just made the chords up. Look at the percussionists. You've got a guy playing a box covered in a towel with a wooden spoon, and another guy playing a wine glass and a metal coaster with chopsticks.

Hey glad to help :) Yeah it's weird cause you don't often get cover's of the single ON the single!! And they're Never as good as Iron & Wine's cover lol Anyway it doesn't really matter who wrote it. The song is brilliant either way!!
