Yeah and the rope looks like it hardly has any tension in it whenever the orangutan is in the shot. They never show a wide shot when the sumo guy pulling real hard. It's always a closeup on the sumo guy when he pulling hard.

My personal opinion is that this is a case of misguided affection from the owner of the ape.

I think this is fake mainly because the orang is over weight, which suggests that she does not get enough exercise and/or fed the wrong food. All though orang-utans are extremely strong naturally they do build up more strength from living in trees as they rarely go to the ground. In an ideal world all animals would be able to live in the wild without needing human intervention, but unfortunately because of humans this may never be the case.
